"Lady Chatterley¿́¿s Lover was originally printed privately in Florence, Italy. It wasn¿́¿t printed openly in the U.K until 1960, when Penguin published it, were taken to the High Court for obscenity, and won the case. The book is notorious for its story of the physical and emotional relationship between a working-class man and an upper-class woman. For the era in which it was written, it is extraordinarily explicit, both in its descriptions of sex and the use of certain words.
